Northwest Florida · Land Stewardship
Where Land Becomes Legacy
A veteran-led, faith-guided company acquiring and developing land in Northwest Florida for heritage hunts, veteran retreats, and outdoor gatherings — built to last, not to flip.
Our Philosophy
Built on Stewardship, Not Speculation
Adkison Field & Forest started with one idea: land is something you're entrusted with, not something you flip. Every acre we consider gets evaluated the way you'd evaluate something you plan to hand down, not something you plan to sell in five years.
Right now, we're walking longleaf pine woods, river frontage, and bottomland across Northwest Florida, looking for the parcels that can support hunting, gathering, and quiet restoration for decades to come.
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
Psalm 24:1What We're Building
Six Ways We'll Use This Land
Once land is secured, here's what Adkison Field & Forest will open to the public and to the veteran community — hunting, gathering, learning, and healing, all on the same ground.
Heritage Hunts
Purposeful hunting experiences rooted in tradition, conservation, and respect for the land—with opportunities to serve veterans and pass outdoor traditions to the next generation.
Veteran Retreats
Small-group outdoor retreats offering veterans space to slow down, reconnect, share experiences, and find renewed purpose through time outdoors and fellowship with others.
Outdoor Events
A natural setting for meaningful gatherings—from weddings and family celebrations to reunions, ceremonies, and other special occasions.
Agritourism
Hands-on opportunities for families, groups, and visitors to experience the land, learn about wildlife and habitat, and better understand responsible land stewardship.
Land Stewardship
Active care of the property through habitat improvement, wildlife management, conservation practices, and responsible management designed to leave the land better than we found it.
Field Devotionals
Faith-centered outdoor experiences that use the rhythms of the land, changing seasons, and lessons from the field to encourage reflection, prayer, and a deeper connection with God.
The Plan
Where We Are, Step by Step
We'd rather tell you exactly where things stand than oversell a timeline. Everything below depends on closing land, which is why that step comes first and gets the most attention.
-
Brand & Structure — Done
Legal entity, brand identity, and our first partner connections are in place. Ready to move the moment land closes.
-
Land Acquisition — In Progress
Reviewing parcels across Northwest Florida for water access, tree cover, and zoning that fits what we want to build.
-
Building the Basics
Lodging, gathering spaces, trails, habitat improvements, and other infrastructure—the physical groundwork that everything else depends on.
-
Open for Bookings
Hunts, retreats, events, and agritourism experiences go live, and we begin hosting veteran groups on a regular schedule.
Why Northwest Florida?
The Panhandle still has what a lot of the Southeast has lost — real river systems, old oak stands, and longleaf pine that can be restored rather than started from scratch.
It's rural enough to offer genuine quiet, which matters as much for a veteran retreat as it does for hunting, gathering, and time outdoors.
We're based in Valparaiso, so this isn't an outside investor parachuting in — it's local, and we plan to stay local.
Leadership
Dr. Nathan C. Adkison
Founder & CEO · Retired USAF Chaplain (Major) · D.Min
Nathan spent his Air Force career as a chaplain, working directly with service members through deployment, injury, and the harder parts of coming home. That work is the foundation for how this company thinks about veteran retreats — not as a program, but as time and space that actually helps.
He holds a Doctorate in Ministry and, outside the chaplaincy, has also led cybersecurity teams — a background that shows up here in how the business itself is run: carefully, with real risk planning, not just good intentions.
As head of Adkison Outdoor Holdings LLC, he oversees a small group of veteran-founded brands spanning outdoor media, gear, and now land — Field & Forest is the newest of them.

Join The Journey
This isn't a mailing list for traffic — it's a short registry for people we'll actually contact: landowners in Northwest Florida, veterans interested in a future retreat, or anyone who wants to know when hunts and events open for booking.
We'll only reach out about this project. No spam, no list sales.
